The Way I Work
When asked about the way that I work I describe myself as an integrative counsellor with a strong Person-Centred focus.

In plain English this simply means that I tailor the training in different therapies that I have undertaken to best suit the needs of the client. This may include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) TA (Transactional Analysis) or Solution Focused Therapy.

A Person-Centred approach, sometimes called Rogerian after its founder Carl Rogers. means that the counsellor is largely directed by the client as to the way that each session takes and places a strong emphasis on empathy and unconditional positive regard towards them.

I am fully trained and experienced in ecotherapy and sometimes if a client or supervisee wishes we can discuss taking advantage of the restorative powers of the natural world by conducting therapy outdoors in the wonderful surroundings of the Gower Peninsula.
